Safety Tech Inc. provides pre-abatement soil sampling, post-abatement soil and dust sampling for Environmental and Industrial Hygiene projects. Best possible price and quickest turnaround time through accredited laboratories. We can also save you money by pre-screening Lead and other elemental waste with the Niton XL, possibly eliminating the need for Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) confirmation.
Safety Tech, Inc. provides Microbial Clearance sampling at the conclusion of Microbial Remediation Projects. Parameters of a Microbial Clearance evaluation include both visual investigation and airborne sample collection for determination of a “clean environment”.
Prior to purchasing a piece of property it’s important to know the history of that property to determine the potential for hidden hazardous material. A Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) will investigate all known and recorded uses of the property and surrounding properties with the potential for groundwater and other contamination problems. Should the Phase 1 discover a possibility of hidden hazards (underground storage tanks, soil contamination, etc.) the next step may be to perform a Phase 2, which includes delineating, sampling, analyzing, and evaluating the extent of the contamination. A Phase 3, the final phase, is clean up / remediation of the contamination.
Safety Tech, Inc. utilizes the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard E 1527-00, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment Process, for conducting Phase 1 ESA’s. Safety Tech, Inc. has been on the forefront of modifying the ASTM standard E 1527-00 to include the All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) requirements. ESA's are conducted to the current ASTM standard
Safety Tech, Inc. provides initial, ongoing, and post consultation relative Indoor Air Quality issues. We specialize in the collection of data for developing a remediation protocol.
The general process in which a Microbial Remediation project shall be conducted is dependent on recommendations of an Industrial Hygienist. To date no governing agency has implemented standards relative Microbial contamination. Although, several recognized organizations have established and published guidelines in which Microbial amplification should be addressed. These are considered the industry standard.
A Lead Inspection is conducted on both the exterior and interior of a building to verify if there is Lead- Based Paint and determine its location. A Lead Inspection does not confirm if the environment is hazardous. Safety Tech, Inc. utilizes a 703A X- Ray Fluorescence (XRF) instrument manufactured by Niton Corporation to perform all Lead- Based Paint Inspections. The advantage is minimized sampling time and non- destructive sampling protocol.
A Risk Assessment measures Lead Hazards. A Risk Assessor takes dust and soil samples and has the samples analyzed. The Risk assessors report provides recommendations based on your budget that tell you how to manage or remove any hazards associated with Lead- Based Paint. Safety Tech, Inc. is capable of performing onsite sample analysis utilizing Niton’s XL- 309 XRF instrument.
This includes scheduled reevaluation, routine visual surveys, ongoing maintenance, and management practices. Concurrent monitoring is recommended based on the occupancy of employees within adjacent workspaces and remediation personnel performing abatement activities. In addition, concurrent monitoring will assist in establishing historical documentation and demonstrating an absence or presence of exposure to personnel within adjacent workspaces and those performing abatement activities.
Safety Tech, Inc. collects air samples for the purpose of determining if there is an occupational potential for respiratory injury or illness. Air samples are collected either within the breathing zones of workers (personal monitoring) or within general work areas (Area monitoring).
Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP), either through an accredited laboratory or as an alternative, Niton has conducted extensive testing and has set a precedent as per 40 CFR Chapter 1 (7-1-92 Edition) Appendix II to Part 261 Method 1311. (TCLP) Paragraph 1.2 in which the Niton XL is used to demonstrate that individual analytes are not present an unknown waste, or that they are present, but at such low concentrations that the appropriate regulatory levels are not exceeded, consequently, a TCLP on the sample can be eliminated.
All hazardous waste is disposed of, tracked (waste manifest) and documented according to current EPA / RCRA regulations.
